Dear
Intercessors,
"And
I…am about to come and gather all nations and tongues and they will
come and see My glory." Isaiah 66:18.
God promises that in His sovereign
grace, He will cause salvation to reach all nations. Many churches
and believers took part in "Seek God for the City 2010" Feb.
17 to March 28th, fasting and praying for 40 days. On
Ascension Day, May
13, millions of Christians all over the world will begin
praying night and day throughout the ten days leading to
Pentecost. NEOIN's May calendar
will feature the prayer points so we can pray alongside millions of
other Christians.
On May 6, 2010,
the 59th annual National Day of Prayer
is to be celebrated. The theme for this coming year is "Prayer
for Such a Time as This." It is based on the verse from Nahum
1:7, "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He
cares for those who trust in Him."
Mr. Franklin Graham, the 2010
Honorary Chairman of the National Day of
Prayer Task force, will join Shirley Dobson in our nation’s
capital to lead the nation in prayer. As of this letter's writing,
on April 15th, U.S. District Court Judge
Barbara Crabb ruled in favor of the
Freedom from Religion Foundation who contends that
National Day of Prayer is
unconstitutional. Senior counsel of the Alliance Defense Fund
explained that National Day of Prayer is America's heritage, and
this day belongs to Americans. An appeal must be filed by the Obama
administration within 60 days following the issuance of the initial
ruling. Shirley Dobson urged Americans to go to NDP's website for
more information on steps we can take.
www.nationaldayofprayer.org There is a button on their home
page that will direct you to a petition asking the President to help
save our National Day of Prayer. The ministry is asking for a
donation because of the uphill battle they are facing; their
opponents have already raised $5 million for their efforts. Mrs.
Dobson promises that the 2010 National Day of Prayer will continue
as planned since the case is stayed pending appeal. May our
faith rise to the occasion and declare over America, "The
LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who
trust in Him."
Nahum 1:7!
On
Pentecost Sunday, which is also
Global Day of Prayer, May 23, 2010,
Christians in more than 200 countries are planning to gather in many
thousands of gatherings, many small and some massive assemblies in
stadiums and open squares. The Global Day
of Prayer is a call to encounter God with many others so that
He can change us and bring forth all that He desires among the
nations. Repentance is a gift from God. Let us pray for all
nations to turn from sin and turn to God!
If ever there
was a kairos moment to pray, dearly beloved, it is now!
