Dear Intercessors,

"The wall of Jerusalem (NE Ohio) is broken down; and its gates are destroyed by fire.  When I (Nehemiah) heard this, I sat down and wept and mourned for days and fasted and prayed (constantly) before the God of heaven." Neh. 13b-4 Amplified. Nehemiah was a cupbearer to the king Artaxerxes, who ruled 465-423 B.C.  He was an officer of the palace at Susa, but his heart was in Jerusalem. Figuratively, gates refer to the glory of a city (Isaiah 3:26) or to the city itself (Ps. 87:2) The gate was the place where people met to hear an important announcement or the reading of the law, or where the elders transacted legal business. To "possess the gates" was to possess the city. Ancient cities had enormous walls surrounding them, sometimes containing chambers inside. 

About four months ago, a DVD featuring John Mulinde, a pastor from Uganda, was viewed by some pastors and intercessors in the city.  John Mulinde had previously been featured on a Transformations video, showing how unceasing, desperate prayer brought transformation to the nation of Uganda.  Some of us had heard the message in 2004 when John spoke at conferences in Nashville.  When the small group viewed the DVD, we unanimously agreed that God was speaking to us through it. God revealed that the destiny of our land was A. To be a city set on a hill   B. to be a light in the darkness and C. To be a messenger of God's Word but "the foundations of this nation have been broken one after another” Ps. 11:3, "if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do." God said that He is "looking for a man who will build up the wall and stand in the gap before him on behalf of this land that I should not destroy it...." Ezek. 22:30.  The Lord revealed to John that the cry of sin in the land is louder than the cry of prayer. There is a cloud of judgment over this land because God's people have made money a God in His place and there were to be three waves of judgment that hit America.  We were to: Pray that the remnant would be big and strong and that they will not fear to stand and that they will have faith to claim this nation back...... for HIS PURPOSES FOR AMERICA ARE YET UNFULFILLED.

Nehemiah SAT DOWN....    WE FELT WE WERE TO TAKE TIME ...PAUSE ACTIVITY AND PROGRAMS.  REMEMBER WHEN THE CHURCH WAS VIBRANT IN OUR LAND AND LEADERS ASKED GOD TO RULE OUR CITIES, STATES AND THE NATION.  WE HAVE PRAYED AND PRAYED AND WE KNOW GOD WANTS TO ANSWER, BUT OUR QUESTION IS 'WHY DOES REVIVAL TARRY"?

With God's help we want to be willing to say, "Lord what are the Broken Walls in America"?  A city with a wall is a city protected.  Where there is a broken wall there is no defense.  Anything can come in and anything can be taken out.  A church, a land, whose walls are broken down cannot stop what comes from outside.  Read the entire chapter of Ezek 22  which talks about the institutions of the land of Israel that were like "walls" protecting them, but those institutions (walls) were broken down and the land was defiled.  Prayer is rendered powerless where the mindset of the people is different than the mind of the Lord.  God wants to clean up His Church.  And His people are hungry to see the Purity of the Bride, the Power of the Holy Spirit and the Glory of God.  Are we fulfilling the love relationship we have for one another?  PRAY FOR EYES TO SEE THE BROKEN WALLS IN OURSELVES, THE CHURCH AND THE NATION.  PRAY THAT THE LORD GIVE US A HEART THAT CONNECTS WITH HIM AND A HEART THAT CAN PROCESS WHAT HE IS SHOWING US.
